Midterms are setting in, and I'm in need of a double-shot of espresso with a twist of lemon. I spent most of my weekend translating and writing commentary for Old English texts. Do you remember being in grade school and asking the teacher whether it was necessary in real life to know whether or not a quadrangle was a rhombus or a trapezoid? The eleventh century homily I translated is kind of like that.
I did, however, get a nice break on Saturday for a venture to the Chicago Botanic Garden. It was wonderful... until it snowed. IT SNOWED. There's nothing worse than wearing a pair of really cute Marais bow flats and watching helplessly as Mother Nature laughs maniacally and promptly ruins them.
How was your weekend?

I wish you luck! I withdrew from my Old English course after only a couple of weeks - partly because I couldn't stand the teacher, but also I just could not understand it.

Snow! That's worse indeed. Esp in a botanic garden. Hope luck will help your assignments to go quickly and for snow to stay away for a long long time. My weekend was lovely thank you. I won't make you jealous with talking about sun.
Oh no... sorry about the shoes, I hate when the weather has it's own agenda that you're completely unnnn-aware of.
Good luck on school work!

Oh my goodness!
It's hard to imagine snow when it is 90 degrees here in sunny Arizona!
Good luck with your midterms lady. Your school horror stories totally remind me of when I shared a house with my English lit major brother for a year! He started to question the usefulness of his degree when he had to take a class on East German, feminist literature :)
That leather bag is just the perfect shade of chocolate-y brown... I can't handle it! It reminds me of the thick hot drinking chocolate in Spain and Mexico.
