Are you neat...or not? I line up my pencils and have everything in my room just so, whether it be parallel or color-coordinated or arranged in height order. Ever since I've moved to NYC, though, my apartment is so clean that it looks sterile. I kind of want to leave a drawer open and scatter jewelry across my hybrid desk/dresser. On the other hand, I wouldn't be able to sleep if my perfumes weren't arranged by their top notes. (Yep). (Top notes). (Yep).
What would you suggest? I can't decide whether I want to turn my room into a really pretty, feminine pigsty or leave it the way it is and paint the wall or something.

Unwillingly my room is one of these really pretty, feminine pigsties. I know where everything is, except the sketches I was searching for this morning. haha. I say keep it clean and tidy. I need to do that to mine. The only thing I get OCD crazy about is my closet. The clothes are so organized I can tell if someone came in and even touched them.

A little of both :) Things get wild sometimes!
I don't even know what a top note is... am I a bad female? I say a good mix of organization and messiness is key to a lived-in-feeling home. Houses and apartments that are too organized always make me feel like I'm in a museum!
I am definitely a place for everything and everything in its place kind of girl, but I love the look of a little bit of messy femininity. So I went out and bought a bunch of mismatched doorknobs for my dresser and closet and some pretty hand painted switch plates and outlet covers. I also picked up a pretty jewelery tree for select necklaces/earrings and a vintage mirror with a few chips in it. It makes my room seem less matchy-matchy and crazy person organized, without sending me into a panic about not being able to find something when I need it.
Lol! Fellow OCD perfume maniacs, unite! Feminine pigsties can look so fab in photos, yet are the root cause of my panic attacks. There must be a fine balance, I just have to find it!
